Michigan's Local Injury Attorneys
For accidents big and small — car, truck, motorcycle, bicycle, or pedestrian — Great Lakes Auto Law fights for your full recovery under Michigan law.
Practice Areas
From No-Fault benefits to pedestrian, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents — we handle every type of Michigan road injury case. Car accident, truck crash, rideshare collision, or hit-and-run: we fight for you.
Michigan's No-Fault system guarantees benefits regardless of fault — but insurers routinely deny or underpay claims. We fight to secure your full medical coverage, wage loss, and attendant care benefits.
When another driver's negligence causes serious injury, you may be entitled to additional compensation beyond No-Fault benefits. We pursue pain and suffering damages, excess economic losses, and more.
Pedestrians struck by vehicles face some of the most severe injuries — and the most complex insurance battles. Michigan No-Fault covers pedestrians hit by motor vehicles, and we know exactly how to maximize your recovery.
Cyclists injured by motor vehicles are entitled to No-Fault benefits under Michigan law — even without auto insurance. We fight for full medical coverage, wage loss, and pain and suffering damages when a driver is at fault.
Motorcyclists are uniquely vulnerable — and uniquely disadvantaged under Michigan's No-Fault system. Motorcycles aren't covered by standard PIP, making third-party tort claims critical. We know how to build the strongest possible case.
Traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord damage, and permanent disability require lifetime care. We build comprehensive cases that account for every future need — medical, personal, and financial.

Client Stories
Every case is different. Every client deserves to be heard. Here's what Michigan accident victims say about working with Great Lakes Auto Law.
Sean O'Bryan provided exceptional legal representation and achieved a fantastic outcome by securing a full policy settlement of $25,000 without the need for litigation. His communication was clear, timely, and reassuring throughout the process.
Sean was very responsive and helped me negotiate 9 times the initial offer. I wasn't getting a fair offer from Uber and Sean and his team helped me when I needed them the most. I'd recommend to anyone who was hurt in or around an Uber.
I've had my fair share of dealing with attorneys, but Sean completely singled himself out as one of the BEST attorneys I've ever had. His dedication to my case was top notch. Whenever I had questions he answered them in a timely fashion.
Common Questions
Michigan's No-Fault system is one of the most complex in the country. Here are the questions we hear most often from accident victims — including pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists.
Michigan's No-Fault law requires your own auto insurance to pay for medical expenses, wage loss (up to 85% of your gross income), replacement services, and attendant care — regardless of who caused the accident. The 2019 reform created coverage tiers, so the benefits you receive depend on the policy level you selected.
Yes. Pedestrians and bicyclists struck by motor vehicles are entitled to No-Fault PIP benefits — even if they don't own a car or have auto insurance. Benefits are claimed through the at-fault driver's insurer, your own household policy, or the Michigan Assigned Claims Plan. An attorney can identify the right source and maximize your recovery.
Motorcycles are not covered by standard No-Fault PIP, which means motorcyclists must rely primarily on third-party tort claims against at-fault drivers. If the at-fault driver was negligent and your injuries meet Michigan's serious impairment threshold, you can pursue pain and suffering damages, lost income, and medical expenses. Uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage on your motorcycle policy may also apply.
Yes, but only if your injuries meet Michigan's 'serious impairment of body function' threshold. This means the injury must affect your general ability to lead your normal life. If you qualify, you can pursue a third-party tort claim for pain and suffering, excess economic losses, and other damages not covered by No-Fault.
Insurance companies frequently deny or terminate benefits — often citing independent medical examinations (IMEs) conducted by doctors they hire. You have the right to appeal and to sue your insurer. An experienced attorney can challenge the denial, gather supporting medical evidence, and fight to restore your benefits.
For No-Fault benefits, you generally have one year from the date of the accident to file a lawsuit if benefits are denied. For third-party tort claims, the statute of limitations is three years. These deadlines are strict — missing them can permanently bar your claim. Contact an attorney as soon as possible.
